Your New Role

Clearly, this is a key appointment for the company. They need a CDM 2015 expert who will be a safe pair of hands. You will be looking after their most prestigious client – it’s an exclusive working relationship that has lasted over a decade.

The company is the sole provider of CDM / PD services to a large retail company across the UK. This involves hundreds of projects per annum, many of which are small programmes of works within existing stores, but also the creation of new convenience stores and a small number of larger projects.

You’ll be supported by a team of established CDM Consultants / Principal Designers. As the lead consultant, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Regular client liaison across multiple sites and offices to provide a comprehensive CDM 2015 compliance service
  • Writing PCI’s for multiple projects within existing stores and reviewing associated construction phase plans
  • Reviewing H&S file information submitted by contractors
  • Undertaking other PD duties necessitating appreciation of both H&S and design appropriate to the type of projects
  • Maintaining the key deliverables tracker, where accuracy and consistency are critical given the number of projects involved.
  • Regular office and site visits

To secure this position you’ll need to have a solid track record of providing CDM 2015 compliance services to clients and/or design teams. You will also have a consultancy background and relevant professional accreditation such as iMaPS and/or Grad IOSH. The company supports the development of the individual in attaining relevant qualifications.

It’s a role that will suit a strong communicator who is smart with the ability to adapt to the daily challenges that arise from taking care of a large national client.
