Assistant Sustainability Manager

Your New Role

Join a leading employer, where you can make a real difference. Working on initiatives to improve environmental performance of procured utilities, increasing staff engagement on energy management, and improving the reporting and monitoring of energy use across the client’s entire estates division.

You will develop, coordinate, and provide project management support for environmental initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption. You will improve utilities data and reporting, including an ongoing programme of metering improvements.

You will also deputise for the Energy Manager, contributing to essential legal compliance, utility consumption and financial forecasting and management of a £21m budget.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant contribution to improving the energy and carbon performance of a large and diverse estate, the complexity of which presents unique challenges and opportunities when addressing energy management.

You will be joining a dynamic and committed sustainability team working with stakeholders to achieve its long-term vision to make a positive impact through outstanding environmental performance.

In addition to a relevant degree, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder engagement. Highly numerate, with excellent attention to detail, and have advanced project management experience. A good understanding of energy issues, policy, and relevant legislation is essential.

Employed initially on a 2-year fixed contact with equivalent permanent salaried benefits.
