Assistant Engineer / CAD Technician

Your New Role

You will be working with an independent property investment business in their land and development team on a range of commercial property projects including land promotion, investment, technical and planning advice for developments. The team has gone from strength to strength, now managing a multi-million-pound portfolio across East Anglia for a wide range of clients.

This is a key appointment working on a strong pipeline of existing projects and also supporting a new venture into the energy sector. You will work as part of a professional multidisciplinary client team of surveyors, engineers, and planners, assisting with planning and technical matters from land appraisal and feasibility to the point of disposal of the land or built form.

Prior experience gained with a consultant, housing developer, contractor design team, development business or surveying practice would be a significant advantage. You will assist with technical appraisals on sites for potential acquisition, reviewing any constraints and opportunities to development. Duties will include compiling surveys, web based historical research and reviewing geological and flood mapping. You will assist with obtaining a full range of surveys including topographical surveys, underground service reports, asbestos, condition, site investigation, contamination assessments. Structural, surveys, party walls, ecological and other enquiries including budget quotes, costs and dealing with consultants and utilities providers.

This is a varied role that will put your technical coordination, project management and planning skills to good use, compiling surveys and undertaking appraisals on site to assess development opportunities.

You will prepare concept and site plans and display information using AutoCAD. Attending project and design meetings as required, as well as proactively liaising with external parties, investors, local planning authorities, surveyors, environmental and design consultants.
