Asset Management Officer

We’re expanding! Join our new team during an exciting period of growth and be the difference in setting new standards and exceeding expectations.

Your New Role

A career within Asset Management is never dull. Working within a sector worth over £300bn requires talented people with energy and ideas. Over the last decade, the affordable housing sector has experienced significant change, rapidly adapting to what is becoming an increasingly commercial environment.

At Orwell we’re leading the way and are part of a wider consortium of housing providers, jointly working together across East Anglia. We are building strong and sustainable communities by providing high quality affordable homes with well-designed local community facilities. These houses are our assets. We have high standards and all our properties need to be maintained to ensure our tenants are safe and happy in their homes. And this is where we need you……….

Our new Asset Management Officer will carry out our stock condition and fire risk surveys. Working as part of our asset management team, you will carry out condition surveys and fire risk assessments across our housing stock. The data will be used to help validate and confirm the general condition of our housing stock and used for our asset register, HHSRS and to help formulate planned maintenance schedules.

You will be tasked with undertaking individual surveys on flats and houses (both internally and externally) on several schemes throughout Suffolk and Norfolk. You'll help ensure we have accurate data to generate an assessment of our current stock condition. In addition, you'll also carry out inspections on communal areas and shared facilities to help with our maintenance plans.

Working as one of our ambassadors, you'll be representing Orwell liaising with tenants and be on point to direct or refer any queries effectively to the relevant departments within the organisation. You'll also deal closely with other team members who will be assisting in the collection and processing of data.

To be successful you'll need to have previous experience carrying out stock condition surveys on domestic dwellings and competent dealing with tenants. The surveys will be predominately within Suffolk and Norfolk.

Your new career package

We believe our staff are the core strength of our business. We are passionate about our people and are a Sunday Times top 100 employer and a silver standard Investors in People accredited organisation. At Orwell, we invest in you and together we make a difference. Your career will flourish as you become an integral part of our property team and the Orwell family.

You will work Monday to Friday and your salary package will be commensurate with your experience - but expected to be circa £ £28,000 with appropriate benefits.
