Site Investigation Engineer

You will work on a range of environmental, historical and modern building and construction projects.

As Site Investigation Engineer, you will learn how to test, inspect and assess structures using specialist site investigation equipment.

Working predominantly on site, you will set up and use specialist equipment to run non destructive and invasive tests, assessing material quality and structural condition.

You will also be involved in sampling for repair work, note-taking, CAD and data collection.

You will be joining an engineering team of Project Managers, Engineers and Building Surveyors based in Cambridge who have a leading reputation and client base. You’ll have the chance to work on a variety of projects across East Anglia and London which currently including castles, museums, hospitals, tunnels and wind turbines.

As Site Investigation Engineer you’ll need an interest in building surveying, testing and how structures work. You must be prepared to work on-site on existing buildings and construction sites, moving testing equipment and sometimes working at height.

The role suits a practical or technical person who is interested in buildings and enjoys being outside. Please note this is not setting out or construction.

Ideally, we are looking for a Technician with a BTEC qualification in Engineering or the Built Environment or a Civil Engineering Graduate looking for a career in building investigation. Full training in using the testing equipment is provided.

You will need the enthusiasm to for this type of work and the willingness to learn. Prior experience isn't necessary at a trainee level.

Based from a Cambridge office, working typically on site 4 days a week, 1 in the office, depending on project needs with work and travel across London and East Anglia. Salary £25000 - £30000 + site bonus.
