Energy Manager – Carbon Reduction

£55,000 - £65,000 + leading benefits, Cambridge

Do you have the technical expertise to deliver an energy, carbon and water reduction programme for a large, varied and prestigious operational estate in Cambridgeshire?

This is a rare opportunity to join an estates sustainability team, as the Energy lead, where you can make a significant contribution in delivering on a zero-carbon status commitment.

As Energy Manager, you will have a high level of technical expertise and experience to identify and implement projects to support the delivery of ambitious environmental sustainability plans for the entire estate.

Degree qualified in an engineering or environmental discipline with extensive technical knowledge of energy and carbon management and reduction, within a building, project management or maintenance setting.

You will proactively identify a pipeline of projects to integrate into a planned maintenance programme for the whole estate. As Energy Manager, you will also lead new initiatives to increase renewable energy generation on-site and opportunities for reducing water use.

This vast estate has huge potential for project success across a diverse portfolio of academic buildings, commercial research, education, historical sites and a working farm. A rare chance to make a real difference to improve the energy, carbon and water performance of a complex and prestigious estate which presents unique challenges and opportunities.

You’ll play a key part in the estates team working to achieve a long-term vision to make a positive impact through outstanding environmental performance.

As Energy Manager you’ll be an excellent communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement and the ability to work with consultants and contractors. Highly numerate with advanced project management experience, including feasibility, costing and project delivery.

Knowledge of energy management techniques, technologies, policy, and relevant legislation is essential. Office based within the estate operations team.
