Working in a key growth role with a renowned building consultancy celebrated for its innovative and sustainable solutions across architecture and building surveying. Now, they're expanding their expertise with a dedicated Project Management service line and need a talented Associate Project Manager to play a pivotal role in its development and success within their dynamic London commercial team.

The opportunity

As an Associate Project Manager, you'll be at the forefront of establishing a credible Project Management business stream, leveraging an existing strong network. Working alongside experienced Partners and a collaborative team, you'll have a unique opportunity to influence the direction of this exciting new offering.

You'll take ownership of the full lifecycle of stimulating occupier-focused fit-out projects, typically ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 sq ft in prime Central London office spaces. You will be the trusted advisor for a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients, from private equity firms to leading retailers, ensuring their projects are delivered flawlessly – on time, within budget, and exceeding their expectations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all project phases, from initial procurement through to successful occupancy.
  • Building and managing high-performing project teams, including consultant selection and negotiation.
  • Developing strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and providing expert guidance.
  • Proactively tracking project progress, managing budgets meticulously, and providing clear and concise reporting.
  • Mentoring junior team members and actively contributing to business development initiatives (proposals, identifying new opportunities).

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • Full Chartered status (MRICS / MAPM) is essential.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience managing commercial fit-out projects, ideally within the London market.
  • A strong understanding and practical experience of the Project Manager, Employers Agent, and Contract Administrator roles.
  • A proactive and autonomous approach with a proven ability to take ownership and provide exceptional leadership in project delivery.
  • Solid experience in successfully managing and motivating project teams.
  • A thorough understanding of JCT forms of contract and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Appointment Documents, Contracts, Funding Agreements, and Lease Agreements, with the ability to effectively coordinate these elements.
  • Technical proficiency in project programming, critical path analysis, and effective time management.
  • A solid understanding of construction methodologies and processes.
  • A self-motivated and driven attitude with a genuine ambition for long-term career advancement.
  • A strong track record of contributing to and ideally developing new business opportunities.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working across a variety of construction sectors beyond commercial fit-out.
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP or Prince II.
