An opportunity has arisen for a 6 month contract for an experienced Quantity surveyor to work in a housing/Maintenance environment.

We are working with an expanding housing provider in Suffolk who are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor within their property improvement team to assist with a peak in workload. They provide an effective, efficient service delivery to a diverse tenant base which the team regularly interacts with. They pride themselves on providing their services to a high and professional standard with quality and tenant care as number one priority. Projects will include reactive maintenance and cyclical improvement (kitchen and bathroom modifications, external planned maintenance, external wall insulation, cladding upgrades and electrical rewire projects etc).
You will be part of a small but dynamic team that are responsible for delivering a full range services to a mixture of generic and supported housing with involvement in both pre-construction and construction stages. Other duties will include: undertaking feasibility studies, provide estimates, prepare contract documentation and ITT's for the improvement, adaptation, repair, maintenance, demolition and asbestos removal works.
To be considered for this position you will need to have a proven background with at least 5 years of previous technical experience covering the above duties - ideally with or alongside an RSL, In-depth knowledge of building construction, relevant legislation and regulations, Knowledge and interpretation of standard forms of building contracts, Proven programming ability to successfully deliver a wide variety of projects in terms of time, cost and quality, Proven ability to communicate at all levels with a mixture of tenants, contractors, and other technical departments.
