MRICS Building Surveyor - Commercial

With strong links to the City and South East, we are pleased to be representing a market leading specialist who provides a range of property consultancy services across a diverse and expanding portfolio of clients - predominately within the commercial and retails sectors. For over a decade they have developed their client base and have secured a strong order book with several new contracts recently being awarded.
Due to this increase in workload, their regional office in Cambridgeshire is becoming increasingly busy as more clients require their expertise. To help deliver the professional and first class service they are known for - they have a rare opportunity for a qualified (MRICS) building surveyor to join their regional team.
The work will involve predominately professional surveying with some small project management duties and some small design and build work, typically involving refurbishment and improvement projects.
However as they have a large and diverse client base, they deal with a good range of bespoke projects which vary considerably in value, size, and sector.
- Specifying works and producing detailed schedules
- Some design work using CAD
- Perform contract administration duties
- Act as an Employer’s Agent when necessary
- Carry out party wall surveys including site surveys
- Prepare accurate condition and building surveys for planned maintenance purposes
- Project management of small refurbishment projects
You would be working alongside an experienced team but should be competent working independently with little supervision.
To be considered further; it is essential that you have at least 12 months previous project management or building surveying experience within either a private surveying firm, or multi-disciplinary consultancy, be educated with a relevant degree, and MRICS qualification.
You should also have proven experience in; contract administration, writing specifications, producing schedules and reporting property dilapidations.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a solid employment history and be educated with a relevant industry qualification/degree in surveying.
You should also have the following: Full driving licence, be highly organised and self motivated, possess excellent IT skills, be diligent, professional, thorough, and personable with the ability to work as part of small team.
The company is only interested in speaking to candidates that want to build a long future with a quality company. Salary packages will depend on experience but are expected to be in the region of £35k to £45k with appropriate benefit package for the level of expertise.
