The Company

We are representing a well respected, housing developer with an expanding in house design team. They work with a range of residential housing projects, varying in size and complexity across the South East, ensuring that every day has a different challenge. With an ever-increasing workload, they need an experienced Development Engineer who can design, manage and coordinate infrastructure for housing schemes from adoptions, tender right through to construction and project hand over.

Job Description

You will also deal with consultants carrying out the design of sites, liaising with local authorities and organising various site meetings. If you have a proven track record with another housing developer or consultant dealing with residential projects. Opportunities are available for Senior or Assistant level Engineers or Engineering Technicians with residential project experience.

As Engineer you are responsible for all infrastructure matters including; road and sewers design, utilities, geo-technical and environmental issues. The job includes site visits during the various stages of construction, dealing with detail and building control submissions, health and safety and design issues for multiple sites.

Essential skills

Previous residential housing project experience is essential but this could have been gained with another house builder design team, engineering consultant, utilities specialist or engineering contractor. Equally if you have design experience gained with a client or local authority perspective would also be of interest.

  • Strong communication skills for dealing with multi-disciplined teams
  • An ability to oversee and coordinate multiple site design solutions
  • A knowledge of section 38, 104 and 278 agreements and approval
  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD
  • To be able to work to tight time scales and deadlines

Due to the location of projects you will ideally be based in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire or Buckinghamshire.
