A well respected independent and innovative consultancy with a real emphasis on developing and training their staff. Opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer willing to undertake CAD duties in addition to design for a new London design team.

Your New Role

Our client is established multi-disciplinary regional consultancy who have a long term record of delivering a full spectrum of services across many industries including; commercial, education, health care, industrial, and social housing projects. With a growing number of offices across the south east they offer a full range of services. As part of their continued expansion they are now looking for a graduate Structural Engineer, willing to undertake CAD duties when requires, on a range of residential and building structures projects.

About you:

You’ll have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least 12 months industry experience with a UK consultancy in a design or AutoCAD role. You will be assist senior engineers with engineering design to all codes of practice / materials, providing technical design and detailing support. Priority will be given to a Structural Engineer willing to initially undertake AutoCAD and draughting duties as part of your role, to help support a growing team. As the team and your experience develop you will naturally have the opportunity to progress to take more responsibility for your own projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior Structural Engineer, willing to combine CAD duties in return for a company that can support a long term career plan to Chartered status.

Essential skills

  • HNC or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Willingness to undertake further training towards CEng status.
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Good analytical, IT, presentation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrate initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to assess, prioritise and organise self
