Technical Moves | Adoptions Engineer

Adoptions Engineer

Do you already work for an established house builder, engineering consultant, utilities specialist, contractor or local government involved in infrastructure design or management? Are you looking for a new challenge that can make use of your experience dealing with the adoption of roads and sewers?

The Company

We are representing a well respected, housing developer with an expanding in house design team. They work with a range of residential housing projects, varying in size and complexity, ensuring that every day has a different challenge. With an ever-increasing workload, they now require a specialist to coordinate and take responsibility for the adoptions process, from tender right through to project hand over.

Job Description

If you have a solid knowledge of civil engineering adoption legislation and construction, but are someone looking for more autonomy and reward then this could be your ideal role.  You will liaise and negotiate with water authorities, highway organisations and other utilities providers. You will be someone that can manage and procure civil contractors to undertake remedial works for surfacing, drainage, services and street lighting works. You will be required to maintain and update agreements, a project coordinator with a proactive approach, someone that gets things done.

Essential skills

Previous residential housing project experience is essential but this could have been gained with another house builder design team, engineering consultant, utilities specialist or engineering contractor. Equally if you have seen the adoptions process from a client or local authority perspective your process and management skills may be of interest. A broad knowledge of construction and design issues is important as you will be playing a key part in the development process.

In return

Due to the location of projects you will ideally be based in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire or Buckinghamshire. If you are looking to escape the London commute, or relocate to a more rural location your application would also be welcomed. Send your CV to Carl Wright at Technical Moves for further information.
